Industrial 256-channel Q-Class printhead engineered with an 80 pL fundamental drop size and VersaDrop grayscale capabilities up to 200 pL for high-opacity graphics.
OEM Part Number / Designation: Sapphire QS-256/80 AAA | High-Productivity Q-Class Piezoelectric VersaDrop™ DoD Jetting Assembly
The Fujifilm Dimatix Spectra Performa Sapphire QS-256/80 AAA is an authentic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) high-performance piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DoD) inkjet printhead engineered for demanding scanning-carriage platforms and high-speed industrial single-pass deposition systems. Beloging to the prestigious Q-Class family, the Sapphire QS-256/80 AAA integrates Dimatix’s proprietary VersaDrop™ jetting technology, ejecting an 80 picoliter (pL) fundamental calibrated native drop in binary mode, or multi-pulsed drop envelopes scaling from 80 pL up to 200 pL across multiple grayscale levels.
Constructed with 256 independent inline channels at a native 100 DPI (254 micron) nozzle pitch, this module combines an ultra-durable, chemically inert silicon orifice plate with PZT piezoelectric shear-mode actuation. The Sapphire QS-256/80 AAA features a factory-configured dual-ported fluidic architecture supporting both continuous ink recirculation and rapid priming/flushing. With high-temperature jetting capability up to 90°C (194°F) and an integral internal temperature sensor, it delivers exceptional jetting straightness, low inter-channel crosstalk, and uniform drop velocity for UV-curable, organic solvent, and aqueous industrial inks at maximum firing frequencies up to 20 kHz.

1. Mandatory ESD Grounding: PZT shear-mode crystal channels and onboard high-speed double-buffered shift registers are Class 1 ESD-sensitive components. Personnel must wear a grounded ESD wrist strap. Never disconnect or reconnect electrical data ribbons while carriage power or drive voltage is energized.
2. Protective Shipping Fluid Flushing: Factory printheads ship pre-wetted with storage fluid. Before introducing UV, solvent, or aqueous ink, thoroughly flush the fluid manifold with a compatible, filtered flushing agent (0.2 micron absolute rating) to eliminate air locks and prevent chemical precipitation.
3. Silicon Nozzle Plate Protection: Never wipe or abrade the silicon orifice plate with dry wipers, paper, or metal tools. Use only approved lint-free polyurethane cleanroom swabs dampened with compatible flush solution, or rely exclusively on automated non-contact purging and vacuum wipe stations.
4. Negative Meniscus Vacuum Regulation: Q-Class printheads require tight sub-atmospheric meniscus pressure regulation (typically -2.0 to -3.5 mbar / inches of water column) to maintain stable drop formation and avoid dripping or air ingestion. Always verify meniscus calibration prior to priming.

*Model Differentiation Note: This printhead is dedicated strictly to the Sapphire QS-256/80 AAA (80 pL native drop) specification. It is NOT interchangeable with smaller drop-volume Sapphire models such as the QS-256/10, QS-256/30, or Polaris PQ-512 series. Always verify drive waveform settings, voltage rankings, and carriage manifold fitting types (barbed vs. O-ring) prior to unsealing the component.
Condition: 100% Brand New, Unopened Factory Original Genuine OEM Component in Factory-Sealed Anti-Static Packaging with Factory Storage Fluid Intact.
Warranty Scope: Covered by standard manufacturer DOA replacement protection against electrical continuity failures and physical manufacturing defects upon initial arrival. Operating longevity is governed strictly by ink filtration quality, fluid degassing, correct drive waveform tuning, and adherence to recommended purge and maintenance protocols.
Return Policy: Precision industrial electronic consumable. Due to sensitivity to electrostatic discharge, internal fluid priming requirements, and chemical contamination risks once unsealed, components that have been removed from their static-shielding bag, filled with ink, flushed with solvents, or energized cannot be returned or restocked under standard commercial terms. Please confirm your printer model and drop-volume specification with technical support prior to unsealing.
