- ESD Protection: The printhead is extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Always use a properly grounded wrist strap, anti-static work mat, and maintain relative humidity between 40–60% RH. Never touch the electrical connectors or nozzle plate without ESD protection.
- Power Isolation & Sequencing: Ensure correct power sequencing is followed according to Xaar guidelines. Use only approved driver electronics and power supplies. Incorrect voltage application or hot-plugging can permanently damage the actuator.
- Meniscus Pressure / Sub-Atmospheric Control: Maintain stable negative (sub-atmospheric) meniscus pressure at all times. Incorrect pressure settings can cause nozzle flooding, air ingestion or deprime. Always follow the pressure parameters recommended for the specific fluid in use.
- High-Viscosity Fluid Handling: The Xaar eX is designed for fluids up to 100 cP. Ensure proper temperature control, filtration and continuous recirculation (TF Technology) to prevent sedimentation and nozzle blockages.
