The Toshiba TEC CF3R is the water-cooled variant of the CF3 recirculating industrial inkjet printhead. It retains the full ink recirculation through all channels and native 600 npi resolution of the CF3 while adding active water cooling for improved thermal stability in high-duty or elevated-temperature environments.
In single-colour mode the CF3R delivers 1,278 nozzles at 600 npi across a 53.95 mm print width. It can also be configured for two colours at 300 npi each (639 nozzles per colour, 53.91 mm width). Multi-drop greyscale technology provides 6 levels (0–5 drops) with a minimum drop volume of 3–4 pL and a maximum of 20 pL at 5 drops. Maximum firing frequency is 9.2 kHz at 5 drops.
Full recirculation through every channel enables automatic recovery from air bubbles and particle sedimentation, supports higher-viscosity and high-gravity inks, and maintains consistent jetting reliability. The water-cooling circuit provides enhanced temperature control compared with the air-cooled CF3, making the CF3R suitable for continuous high-duty industrial operation.
