Factory-original Mutoh DH-40990 (I47V) industrial printhead assembly engineered for high-throughput Mutoh commercial inkjet printing systems.
OEM Part Number: DH-40990 | Engineering Classification: Print Head Assy I47V / ValueJet 1604X High-Speed Commercial Series | 8-Channel MicroPiezo Drop-on-Demand (DoD) Multi-Drop Printhead Module
The Original Mutoh DH-40990 (I47V) Printhead Assembly is an industrial drop-on-demand (DoD) piezoelectric printhead designed for high-throughput commercial graphics, fleet vehicle wraps, outdoor banners, backlit lightboxes, fine-art canvas, and retail signage. Consolidating 8 independent fluid channels within a single monolithic chassis, this module enables continuous dual CMYK (2 × 4 channels) printing with high inter-channel isolation and balanced hydrodynamic ink feed.
Featuring 1,440 active addressable nozzles partitioned across 8 parallel lines (180 nozzles per line), the printhead delivers native optical output resolutions up to 1440 DPI. Leveraging advanced multi-drop grayscale waveform modulation, the unit dynamically modulates droplet volumes from an ultra-fine 1.5 picoliters up to 21 picoliters. This wide dynamic droplet range works with Mutoh’s Intelligent Interweaving (i²) wave printing algorithms to eliminate horizontal banding, rendering smooth continuous-tone gradations, skin tones, and sharp fine vector text.

1. Platform & Encryption Specificity (DH-40990 I47V vs. DF-49684 DX5 vs. DH-40274 DX7): The DH-40990 is engineered specifically for Mutoh ValueJet 1604X and designated commercial series running the I47V configuration. It is not interchangeable with classic DX5 heads (DF-49684 for VJ-1604 / VJ-1204), generic unlocked DX5 heads (F186000), or DX7 heads (DH-40274 for VJ-1624). Confirming mainboard firmware version and carriage board compatibility is mandatory prior to unpacking.
2. Mandatory Head-Rank ID Calibration: After mechanical mounting, the service technician MUST enter the alphanumeric Head-Rank ID (printed on the barcode label) via the Mutoh Maintenance Engineer Software (`MSA`). Running the head without updating the voltage rank results in drop deflection, satellite misting, and accelerated piezo channel degradation.
3. Mandatory FFC Cable & Damper Servicing: Always install brand-new flat flexible head data cables (FFC) and new eco-solvent dampers concurrently. Bent, frayed, or ink-contaminated ribbon cable pins will short-circuit internal piezo driver transistors, instantly destroying mainboard driver ICs and onboard fuses.
4. Faceplate Maintenance Precautions: Never wipe the delicate orifice faceplate with dry shop wipes or coarse paper towels. Clean only using approved lint-free foam swabs moistened with genuine Mutoh Eco-Ultra cleaning liquid. Regularly inspect and clean the rubber capping station seals and wiper blades to avoid dried solvent ink build-up along the nozzle row.

*Model Differentiation Note: Specifically engineered for Mutoh ValueJet 1604X and designated commercial series running the I47V printhead assembly. Confirm machine model number and part code prior to unpacking.
Condition: 100% Brand New, Genuine OEM Factory-Original Mutoh replacement printhead assembly in sealed factory packaging with shipping preservation fluid intact.
Manufacturer Warranty: Covered under standard OEM parts limited warranty against material and manufacturing defects out-of-box prior to ink introduction. No warranty applies once active solvent ink or flush fluid has been introduced into the micro-fluidic chambers, or if damage results from head strikes, media crashes, electrostatic discharge, or improper cable seating.
Return Policy: Precision industrial electronic component. Unopened, factory-sealed boxes with intact tamper-evident seals are eligible for standard commercial return. Once the vacuum seal is broken, protective nozzle tape removed, or the head mounted onto a carriage frame, returns cannot be accepted due to fluid priming, static risk, and electrical contamination hazards.
