Genuine OEM Mutoh DH-40274 (superseding DG-49580, DG-43988, DG-42987) DX7 printhead assembly for Mutoh VJ-628, VJ-1324, VJ-1624, VJ-1624W, and VJ-1924W.
OEM Part Number: DH-40274 (Direct Factory Supersession: DG-49580 / DG-43988 / DG-42987) | 8-Channel MicroPiezo Drop-on-Demand (DoD) Piezoelectric Eco-Solvent / Dye Sublimation Printhead Module
The Original Mutoh DH-40274 / DG-43988 DX7 Printhead Assembly is an industrial-grade drop-on-demand (DoD) piezoelectric printhead designed for high-resolution vehicle wraps, outdoor banners, backlit sign boxes, fine-art canvas, and transfer paper sublimation. Consolidating 8 independent fluid channels into a single monolithic housing, this module allows a single carriage unit to output dual CMYK (2 × 4 colors) continuous high-speed production with high channel isolation and minimal color crossover.
Configured with 1,440 active nozzles across 8 parallel lines (180 nozzles per line), the printhead achieves native optical output resolutions up to 1440 DPI. Leveraging advanced Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT), it dynamically modulates droplet volumes from an ultra-fine 3.5 picoliters up to 21 picoliters. This dynamic drop modulation works seamlessly with Mutoh’s proprietary Intelligent Interweaving (i²) wave printing algorithms, eliminating horizontal banding while yielding smooth photographic skin tones and razor-sharp 2-point vector micro-text.

1. Generational & Model Distinction (DX7 vs. DX5 vs. UV DX7): The DH-40274 / DG-43988 is engineered specifically for ValueJet DX7 eco-solvent and sublimation models (VJ-1324, 1624, 1624W). It is completely incompatible with earlier DX5 ValueJet models (VJ-1604 using DF-49684, VJ-1618 using DG-41914), generic unlocked DX5 heads (F186000), and dedicated UV-LED DX7 heads (DG-45279 for VJ-426UF / 1626UH). Installing incorrect assemblies will result in carriage board communication errors or premature delamination.
2. Mandatory Head-Rank ID Calibration: Following mechanical mounting and ribbon cable attachment, the service technician MUST input the alphanumeric Head-Rank ID (printed on the barcode label) via the Mutoh Maintenance Engineer Software (`MSA`). Running the head without updating the voltage rank results in drop deflection, satellite misting, and accelerated piezo channel degradation.
3. Mandatory FFC Cable & Damper Servicing: Always install brand-new flat flexible head data cables (FFC) and new DX7 dampers concurrently. Bent, frayed, or ink-contaminated ribbon cable pins will short-circuit internal piezo driver transistors, instantly destroying mainboard driver ICs and onboard fuses.
4. Faceplate Maintenance Precautions: Never wipe the delicate orifice faceplate with dry shop wipes or coarse paper towels. Clean only using approved lint-free foam swabs moistened with genuine Mutoh Eco-Ultra or dedicated cleaning solution. Regularly inspect and clean the rubber capping station seals and wiper blades to avoid dried solvent ink build-up along the nozzle row.

Condition: 100% Brand New, Genuine OEM Factory-Original Mutoh replacement printhead assembly in sealed factory packaging with shipping preservation fluid intact.
Manufacturer Warranty: Covered under standard OEM parts limited warranty against material and manufacturing defects out-of-box prior to ink introduction. No warranty applies once active solvent/sublimation ink or flush fluid has been introduced into the micro-fluidic chambers, or if damage results from head strikes, media crashes, electrostatic discharge, or improper cable seating.
Return Policy: Precision industrial electronic component. Unopened, factory-sealed boxes with intact tamper-evident seals are eligible for standard commercial return. Once the vacuum seal is broken, protective nozzle tape removed, or the head mounted onto a carriage frame, returns cannot be accepted due to fluid priming, static risk, and electrical contamination hazards.
