OEM Replacement Component

Seiko Instruments SPT-510 / 50 pL Printhead (Mini Board Adapter Version)

OEM Part Number: IRH1513D-1121-MB / SPT510-50PL-MB Series | Compact Low-Profile Mini PCB Heavy-Laydown Piezoelectric DoD Jetting Assembly

Product Overview

The Seiko Instruments SPT-510 (50 pL) Mini Board Adapter Version (OEM Part Series IRH1513D-1121-MB) is an authentic original equipment manufacturer piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DoD) industrial inkjet printhead engineered specifically for high-laydown grand-format outdoor solvent and UV printers featuring narrow-pitch carriage slots and compact mounting nests. By utilizing a slim, downsized interface PCB directly attached to the upper head chassis, this configuration eliminates the lateral mechanical overhang of wide Big Board adapters, facilitating tight multi-head staggering in space-constrained printing carriages.

Equipped with 510 active addressable nozzles across an expansive 71.8 mm (2.82 inches) active print swath, the printhead ejects nominal 50 picoliter (pL) heavy binary droplets at a native channel resolution of 180 DPI (achieving interpolated resolutions up to 720 DPI via multi-pass interlacing). Built upon Seiko's isolated PZT shear-mode piezoelectric ceramics and protected by an integrated stainless steel nozzle guard plate, the unit integrates internal heating circuits, feedback thermistors, and automatic thermal voltage tracking. This maintains uniform droplet velocity, sharp dot trajectory, and maximum ink density on coarse outdoor media (frontlit/backlit banner vinyl, mesh, and highway billboards) at firing frequencies up to 8.29 kHz.

Key Features & Operational Advantages

  • Compact Mini Board Footprint: Narrow PCB profile eliminates lateral mechanical overhang, allowing dense carriage mounting and seamless integration into tight multi-head brackets where Big Board adapters physically collide.
  • Heavy-Laydown 50 pL Droplet Output: Calibrated 50 pL droplet volume provides intense optical saturation, deep blacks, and complete substrate coverage on coarse vinyl banner, mesh, and outdoor signage without pinholing.
  • Expansive 71.8 mm Print Swath: Enables high-speed multi-pass production modes on 3.2-meter and 5.0-meter grand-format roll presses, sustaining high linear output on continuous industrial shifts.
  • Stainless Steel Metallic Guard Plate: Chemically bonded steel orifice shield protects internal ceramic piezoelectric elements from media edge curling, abrasive automated silicone wipers, and solvent flushes.
  • Active Viscosity Management: Onboard heating elements and feedback thermistors eliminate fluid viscosity fluctuations caused by ambient shop temperature shifts, preventing drop velocity decay and horizontal banding.
CRITICAL TECHNICAL & OPERATIONAL ADVISORY

1. Board Form-Factor Verification: Prior to unsealing, inspect your printer carriage nest and electrical ribbon connectors. Carriages designed for Mini Board printheads feature narrow spacing; installing a Big Board model will cause mechanical collision with adjacent brackets, while installing a Mini Board in a Big Board carriage may leave ribbon cables misaligned or unsupported.

2. Voltage Rank Parameter Entry: Before physical installation, locate and record the factory rank voltage printed on the printhead casing or rank barcode label. Enter this specific voltage rank into the printer maintenance software to prevent over-voltage burnout or weak drop ejection across all 510 channels.

3. Mandatory ESD Grounding & Power Sequencing: Piezo PZT ceramics and onboard logic registers remain sensitive Class 1 ESD components. Technicians must wear a grounded ESD wrist strap and work on a static-dissipative work mat. Always turn off the printer's main power switch and disconnect AC power cords prior to connecting or unseating the Mini Board interface; hot-plugging will instantaneously destroy the carriage board and head electronics.

4. Storage Fluid Purge Protocol: Factory-shipped printheads contain a protective storage fluid. Flush the head thoroughly using filtered, compatible flush fluid (filtered to 0.2 microns) before charging with production solvent or UV inks to prevent cross-contamination and nozzle dropouts. Clean the stainless steel faceplate solely using dedicated lint-free cleanroom polyurethane swabs soaked in approved flush solvent; never apply dry wipes or abrasive materials.

Compatible Models & Systems

*Model Differentiation Note: This printhead features the integrated "Mini Board" adapter PCB with 50 pL calibrated drop volume (OEM Part # IRH1513D-1121-MB). It is NOT interchangeable with the 35 pL Mini Board model (IRH1513D-1111-MB) without full drive voltage re-ranking and RIP density profile re-linearization. Additionally, its physical PCB dimensions prevent it from mounting into Big Board clamping assemblies without mechanical adaptation. Verify carriage socket type and drop volume specification before unsealing.

Terms, Warranty & Customer Protection

Condition: 100% Brand New, Unopened Factory Original Genuine OEM Component in Factory-Sealed Anti-Static Packaging with Factory Storage Fluid Intact.

Warranty Scope: Covered by standard manufacturer DOA replacement protection against electrical continuity failures and physical manufacturing defects upon initial arrival. Operating longevity and channel firing integrity are governed by ink filtration quality, degassing efficiency, correct waveform tuning, and routine maintenance compliance.

Return Policy: Precision industrial electronic consumable. Due to sensitivity to electrostatic discharge, internal fluid priming requirements, and contamination risks once unsealed, components that have been removed from their static-shielding bag, filled with ink, flushed with solvents, or energized cannot be returned or restocked under standard commercial terms. Please confirm your printer model and drop-volume specification with technical support prior to unsealing.
