Specialized 508-nozzle grayscale piezoelectric printhead with Blue Label designation, engineered for aqueous, textile dye sublimation, and water-based pigments.
OEM Part Number: Seiko 508GS (Blue Tag / Blue Label) | Aqueous, Dye Sublimation & Textile Pigment Greyscale Piezoelectric Line Head
The Seiko Instruments 508GS (Blue Label / Blue Tag) is an authentic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DoD) industrial inkjet printhead engineered specifically for high-surface-tension, aqueous-based ink chemistries. Built for digital textile printing, industrial dye-sublimation transfer, aqueous architectural plotting, and water-based corrugated packaging, this specialized variant is distinguished by its factory-assigned blue rating label. Its internal wetted fluid channels, manifold glues, and dampening seals are formulated to resist aqueous cavitation, corrosion, and biological or surfactant buildup without chemical decomposition.
Featuring an interleaved dual-row configuration of 508 active nozzles across an active 71.8 mm print swath, the 508GS Blue Label delivers multi-drop greyscale performance starting from a native 12 picoliter (pL) droplet size up to 48 pL composite drops across a 180 DPI channel pitch. Integrated internal electric heating elements and a precision thermistor provide tight viscosity management and stable droplet velocity up to 28 kHz. Shielded by a bonded stainless steel nozzle guard plate, it ensures high jet straightness, consistent textile saturation, and high mechanical reliability in round-the-clock industrial production.

1. Mandatory ESD Grounding & Power Sequence: PZT shear-mode piezoelectric crystals and onboard drive shift registers are Class 1 ESD-sensitive components. Technicians must wear a grounded ESD wrist strap and work on a static-dissipative work mat. Never connect or disconnect FFC data cables while the carriage board or main power supply is energized.
2. Blue Label Chemistry Warning: The Blue Label variant is engineered exclusively for water-based, dye-sublimation, and aqueous pigment inks. Introducing aggressive solvents, cyclohexanone, or solvent-based UV inks will cause seal failure and destroy the head. Do not cross-install in place of a Green Label (Solvent/UV) unit.
3. Storage Fluid Purge Protocol: Factory-shipped printheads contain a protective storage solution. Before introducing production aqueous ink, thoroughly flush the printhead using deionized water or approved filtered water-based flush solution (minimum 0.2 micron absolute rating) to eliminate air pockets and avoid surfactant precipitation.
4. Meniscus Vacuum & Anti-Drying Capping: Water-based inks evaporate rapidly at the nozzle face. Maintain precise negative pressure (-1.5 to -2.8 mbar) in the secondary ink tank, and ensure capping stations provide an airtight, humidified seal during standby to prevent irreversible nozzle crusting.

*Model Differentiation Note: This printhead is dedicated strictly to the Seiko 508GS Blue Label (water-based / aqueous) specification. It is NOT physically or chemically interchangeable with the Green Label variant (IRH1513N-UV/Solvent). Always verify the blue serial label on the printhead casing prior to unsealing the component.
Condition: 100% Brand New, Unopened Factory Original Genuine OEM Component in Factory-Sealed Anti-Static Packaging with Factory Storage Fluid Intact.
Warranty Scope: Covered by standard manufacturer DOA replacement protection against electrical continuity failures and physical manufacturing defects upon initial arrival. Operating longevity and channel firing integrity are governed by ink filtration, degassing quality, correct waveform tuning, and routine maintenance compliance.
Return Policy: Precision industrial electronic consumable. Due to sensitivity to electrostatic discharge, internal fluid priming requirements, and contamination risks once unsealed, components that have been removed from their static-shielding bag, filled with ink, flushed with solvents, or energized cannot be returned or restocked under standard commercial terms. Please confirm your printer model and drop-volume specification with technical support prior to unsealing.
