Factory 1.07-inch 6-channel FINE thermal inkjet printhead equipped with 15,360 nozzles for Canon imagePROGRAF legacy technical and CAD plotters.
OEM Part Number: 3630B001AA / 3630B003AA (PF-04) | High-Precision FINE Thermal Bubble Jet Scanning Printhead Module
The Original Canon PF-04 Printhead (3630B001AA) is an authentic original equipment manufacturer integrated thermal Bubble Jet drop-on-demand (DoD) replacement printhead engineered for Canon’s high-volume imagePROGRAF 5-color technical CAD and GIS large-format printers. Built with semiconductor-grade FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) manufacturing methods, the PF-04 features an integrated monolithic silicon die designed to deliver clean bi-directional line drawing and solid area fills at rapid carriage traversal speeds.
Housing 15,360 active addressable nozzles (allocated with 5,120 nozzles dedicated to dual Matte Black channels and 2,560 nozzles each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Regular Black), the printhead ejects calibrated 4 picoliter (pL) micro-droplets at native output resolutions up to 2400 × 1200 optimized DPI. The nozzle orifices incorporate anti-satellite trajectory sculpting that minimizes ink misting and dot scatter, producing crisp 0.02 mm line acutance and legible 4-point CAD text. Integrated with onboard EEPROM calibration, the head continuously reports thermal resistor metrics to the host controller to dynamically balance drive voltages and maintain consistent drop velocity across the entire swath.

1. Platform Incompatibility with PF-03 and PF-05: The PF-04 is engineered specifically for second-generation 5-color CAD plotters. It is mechanically, electronically, and fluidically incompatible with first-generation models using the PF-03 (such as iPF610/710/810) and fine-art 8-/12-color models using the PF-05 (such as iPF6300/8300). Carriage alignment guide tabs prevent cross-insertion.
2. Distinction from PF-06 (TM / TX Series): Newer Canon imagePROGRAF TM-series (TM-200/300) and TX-series (TX-3000/4000) utilize the PF-06 printhead. The PF-04 cannot be used in TM/TX printers despite similar exterior chassis dimensions. Check the exact printer model number before breaking factory seals.
3. Electrical Contact Array Protection: Avoid touching the gold contacts on the rear of the printhead housing or the silicon nozzle orifice plate. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) or body oils will cause heater driver failures. If cleaning is needed, wipe gently using an approved cleanroom swab dampened with deionized water.
4. Automated Priming & Calibration: Following installation and carriage latch closure, allow the printer to finish its automated ink priming cycle. Load opaque heavyweight paper to enable the optical carriage sensor to calibrate inter-channel drop alignment.

*Model Differentiation Note: The PF-04 printhead is specific to the 5-color CAD/GIS printers listed above. It cannot be used in fine art printers (which require PF-05) or first-generation plotters (which require PF-03). Verify printer model tags before opening sealed packaging.
Condition: 100% Brand New, Genuine OEM Factory-Original Canon Replacement Printhead sealed in official protective blister packaging with preservation fluid intact.
Canon Manufacturer Warranty: Covered under Canon's standard parts limited warranty against materials and workmanship defects until the expiration date printed on the exterior carton, or until the factory-rated ink throughput threshold is reached, whichever occurs first.
Return Policy: Precision electronic consumable component. Unopened, factory-sealed boxes are eligible for standard commercial return. Once the protective blister seal is opened, the orange protective shipping cap removed, or the head seated into the carriage and charged with ink, returns cannot be accepted due to smart chip activation, fluid priming, and cross-contamination risks.
